Diploma in Insurance

 

It's the next level qualification which is intended for all levels of staff across all sectors of insurance. It equips students with high technical knowledge and skills. It is also for those who have an eye on management positions.

The course can be completed in one year and is open to holders of the COP. The five examinations are based on the Institute modules.

Students have an option to specialise in either Short or Long Term.

The subject combinations are:

Foundation level (all three are compulsory)

  1. Insurance Principles and Practice 1
  2. Insurance Principles and Practice 2 (take Life or Short Term depending on specialisation area)
  3. Legal Aspects of Insurance


Branch level (choose one in preferred area of specialisation)

  1. Long Term Business (Long Term)
  2. Commercial General Insurance (Short Term)

Technical level (take one in area of specialisation)

 

Long Term or Life Route

  • Life Assurance
  • Pension Law Taxation and Administration

Short Term or Non- Life Route

  • Principles of Property and Pecuniary Insurance
  • Motor Insurance
 

October 2011 Exam Cycle

Registration Ends: 16 September
Entry permits available: 23 September
Exam dates: 11-14 October
Results are released: Mid December
